FeTNA Convention

This waiver applies to participation in any FeTNA 2026 Convention event, program, stage performance, competition, rehearsal, practice, sound check, parade, workshop, panel discussion, cultural program, youth activity, or related activity conducted at or in connection with the Convention, including activities at the main venue, hotel venues, rehearsal areas, backstage areas, green rooms, and other assigned event spaces.

I understand that participation in Convention activities may involve risks, including but not limited to slips, trips, falls, crowd movement, stage or backstage movement, use of props or costumes, dance or physical movement, lighting, sound, electrical equipment, transportation within event areas, illness, allergic reactions, food-related concerns, personal injury, property damage, or other unexpected incidents. I voluntarily choose to participate and knowingly assume all risks associated with my participation.

I agree to follow all instructions provided by FeTNA, NJ Tamil Peravai, the FeTNA 2026 Convention Committee, program coordinators, stage managers, venue staff, security, medical personnel, and authorized volunteers. I am responsible for my own conduct, personal items, costumes, instruments, equipment, props, jewelry, electronics, and other belongings. FeTNA and NJ Tamil Peravai are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property.

I agree to comply with all applicable event rules, venue rules, stage and backstage rules, fire code requirements, safety instructions, health requirements, and all federal, state, and local laws. I understand that unsafe behavior, unauthorized access to restricted areas, misuse of equipment, or failure to follow instructions may result in removal from the program or event without refund or compensation.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release and hold harmless the Federation of Tamil Sangams of North America (FeTNA), NJ Tamil Peravai (NJTaP), the FeTNA 2026 Convention Committee, the venue, hotels, event partners, sponsors, officers, directors, members, volunteers, employees, agents, contractors, representatives, and affiliates from any and all claims, demands, losses, damages, liabilities, injuries, costs, or expenses arising out of or related to my participation in the Convention activities, except to the extent prohibited by applicable law.

I agree to indemnify and hold harmless FeTNA, NJ Tamil Peravai, the FeTNA 2026 Convention Committee, the venue, hotels, and their respective officers, directors, volunteers, representatives, agents, and affiliates from any claims, losses, damages, costs, or expenses arising from my acts, omissions, negligence, misconduct, violation of rules, or use of props, costumes, instruments, equipment, or materials during the Convention.

In the event of illness, injury, or emergency, I authorize FeTNA/NJ Tamil Peravai representatives, event volunteers, venue staff, or emergency personnel to seek or arrange emergency medical assistance as reasonably necessary. I understand that I am responsible for any medical expenses incurred. For minors, the parent or legal guardian signing below provides this authorization on behalf of the minor participant.

I understand that the Convention is a public cultural event where photography, video recording, livestreaming, audio recording, media coverage, and promotional documentation may occur. I grant FeTNA, NJ Tamil Peravai, and their authorized representatives permission to photograph, record, livestream, broadcast, publish, and use my name, image, likeness, voice, performance, and participation for event documentation, publicity, archival, educational, social media, website, broadcast, and promotional purposes, without compensation.

For participants under 18 years of age, the parent or legal guardian confirms that they have authority to sign this waiver, accepts responsibility for the minor participant, and agrees that the minor participant will follow all event, venue, backstage, and safety instructions. The parent or guardian is responsible for appropriate supervision before and after the participant's assigned program activity unless the participant is under the supervision of an approved program coordinator or teacher.

I understand that program schedules, stage times, performance order, rehearsal slots, competition timing, and venue assignments may change due to operational, safety, weather, technical, or other event-related reasons. FeTNA and NJ Tamil Peravai may modify, delay, shorten, relocate, or cancel activities when necessary.

I confirm that I have carefully read this waiver, understand its terms, and sign it voluntarily. I understand that this document affects legal rights and is intended to be relied upon by FeTNA, NJ Tamil Peravai, the FeTNA 2026 Convention Committee, the venue, hotels, and related parties.
