Participant Information – Therukkoothu for FeTNA 2026

Therukkoothu is one of the oldest and most vibrant traditional Tamil folk theatre art forms, combining storytelling, music, dialogue, movement, and cultural expression. As part of the FeTNA 2026 Convention, we are organizing a special prime-time Therukkoothu performance and inviting interested participants to be part of this unique cultural presentation.

This registration is to identify and select individuals who are interested in participating in the Therukkoothu performance. Selected participants will be required to go through a structured training program before the final stage presentation. After we receive your registration, our team will contact you regarding the audition and selection process. Those chosen will then undergo training that will include both online sessions and in-person practice. The training program will begin with online training, followed by in-person rehearsals to prepare for the final performance at the FeTNA event.

Note: The training will be led by Mr.Sankagiri Rajkumar, film director and renowned Therukkoothu artist, who will guide participants through the learning and performance process.

Training Fee: The training will be provided free of cost. However, all participants are required to purchase an entrance ticket to attend the FeTNA event. Tickets can be booked through the FeTNA Convention website: https://fetna-convention.org/.

No prior experience is required to participate in Therukkoothu. What matters most is genuine interest, dedication, and a willingness to learn. More than 300 Tamils living in the United States have already learned and performed this traditional Tamil art form. We will provide the necessary training and guidance, and all interested participants are warmly welcome to join this enriching cultural journey.
